Kimberly Newman

Program Director, Capitol Region Women’s Business Center

Kimberly comes to WACIF with an extensive and diverse background in Business Development and Marketing.  She specializes in Hospitality and Tourism Sales, most recently in the corporate, sporting, and association event incentive market.  A significant portion of her time is spent providing both volunteer and consultancy services to associations and emergency response organizations. During COVID, Kimberly and many of her contract staff were activated to support local DHOs and corporations around the country to support COVID emergency response efforts.  This was a pivotable time that helped propel her more intentionally into supporting mission work and driving resources to marginalized communities.

As a business owner and creative visionary, Kimberly has helped clients across the United States strategize growth and forge impactful partnerships. Beyond her professional endeavors, she dedicates her spare time to volunteerism, particularly in education and community impact focused arenas. She teaches Continuing Education courses to international students at CUNY, mentors aspiring industry professionals, and provides job placement support to individuals facing employment challenges or hard-to-hire obstacles. Kimberly’s dedication to community service is further evident through her role on the MSAAC committee, focusing on inclusion in policy formation, and her board membership with Rukundo International, which supports education and community development in Uganda.

Kimberly’s notable career highlights include her involvement in three Presidential Inaugurations, the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, and securing a significant sports association deal. As well as overseeing vendor services for global conferences, trade shows, major sporting events, sourcing event services for multiple Fortune 50 companies, and has organized events at prestigious venues like the Supreme Court.

Personally, Kimberly cherishes the time spent with her 14-year-old son, introducing him to volunteerism and exploring the world through travel. Their adventures have included memorable experiences like visiting Switzerland, Barcelona, France, Canada, St. Martin, and driving on the Monaco Grand Prix racetrack.

In summary, Kimberly’s career is marked by a deep commitment to excellence in business development, a passion for community service, and a love for travel and education. With a profound desire to make a significant impact both professionally and personally.
