Every entrepreneur WACIF supports is writing a story of resilience and innovation. For Hyacinth Tucker, founder of The Laundry Basket, that story is about seeing an opportunity, building a business around it, and continuing to think bigger as the company grows.
An Army veteran and serial entrepreneur, Hyacinth founded The Laundry Basket in 2022 with a simple idea: make laundry and garment care more convenient. Today, the veteran- and woman-owned company provides laundry, dry cleaning, alterations, uniform and linen programs, and textile services to residential, commercial, government, healthcare, university, airline, and corporate customers.
How Funding Through WACIF Capital Supported Small Business Growth
Simply put, The Laundry Basket services the whole closet.
As the company has grown, so has Hyacinth’s vision. The business is expanding into new markets, pursuing larger institutional and corporate opportunities, developing its NextFold franchise model, and building technology designed to shape the future of the laundry industry.
That growth has also changed the kind of support Hyacinth needs.
“Don’t let the current size of your business determine the size of the opportunities you pursue. Get in the room, do the work, deliver with excellence, and build a company people want to work with again.”
Through WACIF, Hyacinth has gained access to relationships, capital resources, technical assistance, and connections across the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Most recently, WACIF has helped facilitate introductions around franchise financing and access to capital, supporting The Laundry Basket as it moves into its next stage of growth.
For Hyacinth, that kind of support matters because entrepreneurship isn’t always about needing another class or program. Sometimes, it’s about having access to the right person, the right resource, or the right conversation at the right time.
Since launching in 2022, The Laundry Basket has grown from a local pickup and delivery concept into a company serving increasingly complex customers and opportunities, including major sporting events. The company provided laundry services connected to the 2025 Senior PGA Championship and has been selected to provide services for the 2027 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at Congressional Country Club.
The vision keeps getting bigger and so does The Laundry Basket’s capacity to execute it.
