Chief Development and Communications Officer, Head of Sustainability
Megan has extensive experience in fundraising, research, and writing and is passionate about using these skills to support low-income entrepreneurs in the D.C. area. Most recently, Megan worked as a non-profit fundraising consultant, supporting a range of organizations across the U.S. with their grants programs. She has worked and interned in the non-profit sector, including at the Nature Conservancy, and experienced firsthand the need for strategic fundraising.
Megan holds a Ph.D. in Geography and Sustainable Development from the University of St Andrews in Scotland. Megan earned an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London, an MA in Environmental Management from Harvard University, and a BA in Environmental Science from the University of Virginia. Amidst her academic pursuits, she spent time in Costa Rica as an environmental conservation educator in local primary schools.
After deciding to leave academia, she felt called to the non-profit fundraising sector to make an on-the-ground impact. She feels strongly about the effect that microfinancing can make in supporting and building equitable and sustainable communities. Outside of work hours, Megan enjoys running, biking, hiking, yoga, and traveling.
