Mayor Bowser Designates New Main Street Initiative

In celebration of Small Business Saturday 2017, Wacif Executive Director Harold Pettigrew joined Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, Deputy Mayor for Greater Economic Opportunity Courtney Snowden, and Acting Director, Kristi Whitfield of the D.C. Department of Small and Local Business Development to officially designate the Minnesota Avenue NE Main Street program. Wacif announced the new main street initiative during it’s 30th Anniversary celebration in September 2017. The Main Street program, which will be launched as the Downtown Ward 7 Main Street Initiative, newest main street east of the Anacostia River.
