As development leaps across the Anacostia River, how can the District ensure equitable and inclusive growth for Ward 7 and 8 residents? Join us for a talk with four D.C.-based non-profit leaders (all LGW Class of ’21) who will discuss their community-centered work investing in affordable housing, small business, and civic spaces. Speakers will include Harold Pettigrew, Wacif; Kimberly Driggins, Washington Housing Conservancy; Latrena Owens, St Elizabeth’s East; and Scott Kratz, 11th Street Bridge Park. They will share successes, challenges, and lessons learned in creating and maintaining equitable opportunity east of the river. A reception and tour of St. Elizabeths – which just celebrated the opening of their Cedar Hills facility – will follow the panel.
