Electrifying the Tech Industry | Women of Fire Fireside Chat Series

September 23 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

For women of color, starting and growing a thriving business in the STEM industry, where women and people of color have historically been excluded, is not an easy undertaking. In our upcoming Women of Fire Fireside Chat Series, meet Sheryl Ponds, a trailblazer driving inclusivity in the green tech sector through her electric vehicle (EV) installation business: Dai Technologies Corporation (DaiTechCorp).

Sheryl is the Founder and CEO of DaiTechCorp, where she focuses on tailored, turnkey solutions to install EV Charging applications for the home and commercial buildings. As the transportation industry switches from gas-powered vehicles to electric vehicles, the need to support an EV infrastructure for all communities is essential.

In this electrifying conversation with Sheryl, we will explore how she applies her background in engineering and commercial real estate to champion an equitable, sustainable future through EV charging installations. We will also learn more about her perspective and experiences as a woman of color CEO breaking down barriers in the green tech sector.

The Women of Fire Fireside Chat Series is hosted by Wacif Chief Program Officer Kimberly Gayle.

About the Speaker

Sheryl Ponds BSME, MBA is the founder of Dai Technologies Corporation, a woman and minority-owned electric vehicle (EV) charging installation consultancy ensuring access to public and at-home charging. Founded in 2018, DaiTechCorp’s model is a turnkey solution that helps residential and commercial properties adopt charging stations into a property, connect to programs and benefits, and install EV stations.

Like many EV drivers dealing with Range Anxiety (RA), the anxiety of being stuck on the road due to the limited availability of EV charging stations, Sheryl was initially hesitant to purchase an electric car. Instead of waiting for change to come, Sheryl turned to entrepreneurship and took matters into her own hands.

Sheryl believes she is destined to build the fueling infrastructure for EV’s. This STEM and MBA grad has enjoyed careers in manufacturing, banking, economic development, and commercial real estate. Building a future without RA energizes her vision of a world with equitable access to EV charging networks.
