How WACIF Helped

WACIF provided Community Forklift with a $200,000 start-up loan for equipment purchases and working capital.  

Impact

• 17 Green Jobs
• Over $5 Million dollars of material kept from landfills
• Tens of thousands of local residents able to affordably repair their homes

The program has also donated supplies to community projects and families in need, and conducted hundreds of educational sessions about recycling and low-cost ways to go green at home.  Community Forklift also recently won “Best Home Goods Store” in the City Paper’s Best of DC contest, and ‘Best Hardware/DIY” in the Washington Post Express.
