WACIF’s expertise and technical assistance are available to small businesses, childcare centers, affordable housing developers, and community organizations. Since all organizations, whether for-profit or non-profit, need to bring in more money than they spend, WACIF’s technical assistance components can be tailored to fit each organizational type. 

WACIF’s technical assistance is comprised of the following services:

  • Specialized Technical Assistance Program – WACIF can provide one-on-one assistance to entrepreneurs and organizations. Some of the areas of WACIF’s expertise include:
    • Financial management
    • Marketing
    • Business planning
    • Real estate issues
    • Cash flow analysis
  • Intensive Seminar Curriculum delivers information essential to the success of the entrepreneur and organization. Seminars will include professional-level consultants, lawyers, and industry experts. The entrepreneur and/or organization gains access to high-quality information and services at no cost—access to expertise and resources many clients would otherwise not have.
  • Loan Days connect our clients to the world of community-minded lenders. Business bankers, non-traditional financing institutions, and WACIF loan staff meet one-on-one with attendees to explain how lending works, what lenders look for, and provide applications for financing.
  • Small Business Toolkit is a useful take-home guide of “best practices” developed by WACIF for the entrepreneur detailing how to start and run a business successfully in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Toolkits are free and available to the public.
